Business breakfast brings Prime Minister to campus

Business breakfast: Prime Minister John Key giving his address.

Prime Minister John Key made a brief visit to campus this morning, as guest speaker for a business breakfast hosted by Te Puni Kōkiri at the WEL Academy of Performing Arts.

The University of Waikato Vice-Chancellor Professor Roy Crawford was among the 100 invited guests who attended the breakfast, which focussed on Māori business development in the Waikato region.

Local National MPs Tim Macindoe and David Bennett attended, along with Minister of Pacific Island Affairs Georgina te Heuheu and Minister of Māori Affairs Pita Sharples, who was also a keynote speaker. The event also featured a miniature expo showcasing local Māori businesses supported by TPK.
