Bachelor of Management Studies Student: Zoe Bicker.
"Studying at the University of Waikato in Tauranga means smaller classes, which is obviously an advantage for learning", says Zoe Bicker, who is in her final year of a Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), majoring in Public Relations and Marketing.
Confident of having the right skills
Zoe finished a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration at the BOP Polytechnic in 2007, then worked for five years to save money. "It really helped me in starting with this university study, it makes a difference to have studied at the Polytechnic first. It all seems familiar and you already have the confidence of having the right skills", Zoe says.
Explore options for study
Zoe is encouraging all secondary students in the Bay of Plenty to attend the upcoming Tauranga Career and Business Expo to learn about their options for studying in the Bay. "Attending this expo will help a lot of people to see what options there are. The fact that you can turn an interest or a hobby into a career will surprise many. At an event like this you can have an informal talk to students or people who made a career out of their passion".
"I am also a student ambassador for the University, so I will be there on both days to answer your questions".
The University of Waikato will be at the Tauranga Careers and Business Expo, TECT Arena, Baypark Stadium on Friday 8 August from 9am-4pm and Saturday 9 August from 9.30am-3.30pm.
