Win for Waikato & BOP: NINZWBOP Team Pursuit winners 2014.
At the Elite & U19 Track National Championships at the Avantidrome from 13-16 March, the women’s 4000m team pursuit was won by the Waikato Bay of Plenty team.
The quartet, made up of Waikato University Hillary Scholar Phillipa Sutton, Jaime Nielsen, Racquel Sheath and Rushlee Buchanan (as pictured) caught Southland (Sophie Williamson, Sequoia Cooper, Laura Heywood, Kirstie James) with just over a lap left, much to the delight of the large local crowd.
The bronze went to composite team - Georgia Williams AKL, Julia Tarbotton MSC, Makayla Smith SLD, Ruby Perry WCN, and the Auckland team of Bryony Botha, Holly White, Samantha Croft, Nina Wollaston came in fourth.
