Mashup WinnersCatherine Downes, Group Manager Future Students Recruitment from the University of Waikato, presents the University's Best Presented Mashup category prize to Tauranga Girls College.

On 28 and 29 March the Bay of Plenty Mashup 2015 competition had students competing for different awards in Tauranga. The University of Waikato's Best Presented Mashup 2015 Award went to 'Lemons', a team from Tauranga Girls College. The teams in this competition, sponsored by the University of Waikato, work with mentors from the entrepreneurial world, using IT, business planning and marketing skills to create a mashup combining two or more existing data sources.

A mashup is a web page or web application that uses content from more than one source to create a single new service displayed in a single graphical interface.

The competition has been running since 2011 and was this year won by Katikati Homeschoolers team Solid Impact. They developed a website solution called Kati Stuff, which targets the issue of teenage boredom. They created a one-stop shop portal for events and activities, where scattered information is drawn into one place.
