International Women's Day 2019

8 March 2019

We’re celebrating International Women’s Day at University of Waikato - what we have achieved, and what we will go on to achieve.

At University of Waikato, we have a proud history of strong women leaders, who are drivers and leaders of societal change. Better the balance, better the world!

Vice-Chancellor Professor Neil Quigley says, "Today is International Women’s Day and the theme is #balanceforbetter; a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world. Today there is a spotlight on gender balance both here and around the world, and this is something that our University continues to work towards."

We are fortunate to have such a diverse community and as part of this, we recognise there is more work to be done in attracting, supporting and encouraging women through our organisation.

- Neil Quigley, Vice-Chancellor

"We acknowledge the contribution that all staff make in enabling women in this University to be their best, and to have the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. Today is an opportunity to celebrate how far we’ve come and to focus on how we can progress further. A balanced world is a better world," Professor Quigley says.
