Remembering a one of a kind leader

Scott Bartlett

The University of Waikato community acknowledges and mourns the passing of Council member Scott Bartlett.

Scott was diagnosed with multiple brain tumours in August 2019, and he made the decision to step down from his role as Chief Executive of Kordia in October this year to focus on his recovery.

Throughout his treatment, Scott remained an active member of the University Council. He always brought a fresh perspective and new ideas to the table, and was a constant advocate for the wellbeing of staff and students.

Scott was a former student of the Waikato Management School, studying a Bachelor of e-Commerce from 2000-2002. As a highly respected leader in the business community, we were proud that Scott agreed to join the University Council in 2018.

Scott was one of a kind, and his passing will leave the Council with big shoes to fill. For now, on behalf of the Council, our thoughts are with Scott’s family and friends, and his colleagues at Kordia.
