Te Kotahi is guided by a Board of Directors, and has a strong relationship with Te Rōpū Manukura (the kaitiaki of Te Tiriti o Waitangi for the University) and the Deputy VC Māori Office.

Board members are selected for their business acumen and breadth of experience in Te Ao Māori and Te Ao Hurihuri.
