UTSNZ Tertiary Sport

Represent the University of Waikato and compete against other New Zealand Universities and Tertiary Institutions in the UTSNZ National Tertiary Sport Championships (see the full calendar of events below).

All teams will be selected at trials and we are seeking the best athletes to represent the University of Waikato. Then the Sport Team will organise the entire trip and head away with the team to the tournament. For more information about trial dates, email uowsport@waikato.ac.nz and follow us on Facebook.

Student Athlete Commission

The University of Waikato UTSNZ Student Athlete Commission for 2019 is Jordan Urwin.

Jordan started studying a Bachelor of Business majoring in Finance and Accounting at the University of Waikato in 2018. During 2018 he playing for the University of Waikato at the UTSNZ Volleyball Champs and the UTSNZ Ultimate Frisbee Champs, taking home a silver medal from Volleyball.

The UTSNZ Student Athlete Commission aims to allow the voice of the student-athlete to be effectively communicated with the organisation. It provides advice to the UTSNZ Executive about issues of student sport participation and achievement, and the development of UTSNZ. The Commission also helps to build awareness of UTSNZ within member students groups and to implement student-focused initiatives.
