The Sport Team deliver many sporting events each year.There are also a number of opportunities to volunteer with a University of Waikato sports club – from being a committee member through to being a coach. If you're interested in volunteering to lend a hand at one of our sports events or with a sports club, email uowsport@waikato.ac.nz

Faculty Sport Ambassadors

The Sport Team are looking for Faculty Sport Ambassadors for each Faculty to join the team for 2023 and assist with the Inter-Faculty Sport calendar.

The team of Faculty Sport Ambassadors will be responsible for helping promote each Inter-Faculty Sport event to the students within their Faculty, take player registrations, liaise with the Sport Team to send team entries through and help look after the team as the team manager at each event. The Faculty Sport Ambassadors will also have the option to help run each event, providing them with event management experience in the sport industry.

The Faculty Sport Ambassador will be able to participate at each event with their team.

Employability Plus Programme

The Employability Plus Programme (EPP) gives University of Waikato students the opportunity to gain work-ready skills through volunteer activity, university participation, and attending workshops.

UoW parkrun

Parkrun events take place every week and everyone is welcome to volunteer. 

Every parkrun only happens because of the time and dedication of its volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteers and all roles are easily explained.
