There are various options available to students looking for affordable accommodation in the Bay of Plenty region.
University apartment accommodation
The University of Waikato manages two accommodation complexes in Tauranga, Durham Mews Apartments and Mayfair Court Apartments, both conveniently located a short distance from Tauranga Campus.
Durham Mews apartments consist of six three-bedroom apartments located on Durham St, just a two-minute walk to the University campus.
Alternative accommodation options
Homestay (living with a local family in a private home) is the preferred option for international students under the age of 18 years. All homestay families have been screened and approved by the University. The University is currently establishing a Tauranga Homestay Service if you have any enquiries or wish to make an application, please contact Iris Beemster.

Accommodation options close to Toi Ohomai’s Windermere Campus include:
- Windermere Singles Accommodation – Olivine Street
Located on Olivine Street, a short walk from the Windermere Campus, this accommodation consists of three six-bedroom houses. Each house is fully furnished, has two bathrooms, and Wi-Fi is also available.
- Windermere Drive Accommodation
Situated on the corner of Windermere Drive and Poike Road, a three-minute walk from the Windermere Campus, this accommodation consists of six six-bedroom fully furnished student flats.
