Virtual Opportunities

Want to make a difference in local communites in Barcelona?

Make a difference in local communities through non-profit organizations based in Barcelona and enhance your CV from wherever you are with ISEP’s Virtual Service Learning Program. Learn about Spanish culture and social issues in Barcelona while gaining intercultural competence and remote work skills, which are critical in today’s global world.

You will have the chance to volunteer at carefully selected non-profits in Barcelona and gain international work experience with leading service organizations. ISEP is the programme provider and they will give guidance and support to participants throughout the program, facilitating cultural online sessions and being available for questions and assistance. You will also be assigned a supervisor at the chosen organization. Please note, an understanding of Spanish is not required.

You will be required to complete a minimum of 30 hours. The number of hours per week will depend on the specific organization’s needs but will average 3-5 hours per week. These hours can be easily fit around the requirements of your normal papers.

As each organisation has different needs and requirements, you will be assisting your assigned organisation with different projects, such as developing communications, teaching English, video production, social media management and more.

Please note this virtual programme is open to any University of Waikato student. While this is not a for-credit programme it is a great opportunity to enhance your skills and your CV.
