Clear cookies and cache

Follow these instructions to re-enable seamless sign in.

If you’re:

  • encountering issues with outdated files
    (eg; an old file opens after you upload a new one in Moodle)
  • having trouble accessing certain sites/databases
    (eg; My Account at the Library)
  • encountering a 404 error
  • getting an OpenSAML error

Clearing your browser’s cache may help. This process involves deleting your cookies and temporary internet files.

Microsoft Edge

  • Click the 3 horizontal dots (top right of your browser), and select Settings

  • Click Privacy, search, and services

  • Under Clear browsing data click the blue button Choose what to clear

  • Select All time for the Time range and click the blue button Clear now

Google Chrome

  • Click Customize and Control Google Chrome the 3 vertical dots (top right of your browser), and select Settings > Privacy and security

  • Click Clear browsing data to bring up the window below and check settings as shown

  • Be sure to select the Time range as All time.

  • Select  Cookies... and also select Cached.…

  • Click Clear data

  • Close and re-open your browser

Firefox

  • Click the Open Menu, the 3 horizontal bars (top right of your browser) 

  • Select History, then Clear Recent History

  • Select Time range as Everything

  • Tick the Cookies and Cache boxes

  • Click Clear

  • Close and re-open your browser

Safari

  • Click Safari (on the Safari Menu Bar) > Click Preferences

  • In the Preferences window, click the Privacy tab.

  • Click Remove all Website Data…

  • Click Remove Now on the pop-up window.
