In this paper, the students are tasked with the completion of an open-ended Civil Engineering project. Lectures will discuss different aspects of the design process, starting from advanced surveying and project briefs, constructability, risk quantification and management. All these aspects will be embedded in a group project activity, which will serve as a case study to introduce the students to the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) practices in Civil engineering design. The students will also be tasked with preparing and delivering a full presentation of their projects at the end of the trimester.
