This paper provides a design perspective to ENGME280. It caters for design students building on the introduction to engineering design taught in ENGEN180. The paper provides a better alignment with design practices in industry offering students an understanding of the principles and manufacturing processes used in New Product Development projects.

The paper covers the practical aspects of common manufacturing processes via workshop and practical sessions where students build up their practical skills and apply their theoretical knowledge on manufacturing processes to solving practical problems.
