This paper is a multi-disciplinary focused paper providing students with the opportunity to understand a Maori worldview through the lens of Maori fibre arts praxis. MAORI251 is an introduction to raranga whakairo, the theoretical and practical application of patterns within the weave. Students learn to raranga and critically examine customary/traditional techniques in modern day applications.
