This paper examines the New Zealand political system, its institutions, processes and policy priorities. It will discuss the place of the Treaty of Waitangi in New Zealand politics, political parties, democracy, electoral behaviour, public policies and the influence of globalisation on the New Zealand economy. It provides an introduction to some key concepts in political science and comparative politics.
