In this paper students will develop critical understandings and skill sets to engage with critical issues of social justice as it aligns with sporting practices. From global and local, transnational and national examples, students will learn about these issues of social justice, and some of the strategies sportspeople, coaches, NGOs, and governmental agents have utilised to deal with such issues. Moreover, there will be an explicit focus on developing applied professional skills and knowledge so that students can be strategic change agents for social justice in their future professions.
