This paper will focus on the learning and teaching of te reo and tikanga Maori in school settings. Students will have the opportunity to develop teaching strategies that will involve second language learning and teaching techniques, and examine associated issues and support systems. This paper introduces students to the theory and practice of integrating te reo Maori into class programmes.
