Certificate of Attainment in Academic English

This Academic English programme, offered at the Waikato Pathways College, prepares international students for the Foundation Studies programme or a range of undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at Waikato University.

The Certificate of Attainment in Academic English (CAAE), offered at the Waikato Pathways College, has five levels, from Intermediate to Advanced, and you can enter into the course at a level dependent on your current English level.

Classes focus on the skills needed for successful study in higher education in New Zealand such as academic writing, listening, note-taking, reading, and oral presentation skills. Higher levels can provide direct entry to university programmes - please see below for further details.

Upon successful completion of the Certificate of Attainment in Academic English (Levels 7-8), you can progress to most degree courses at the University of Waikato.
