PGDipPracPsych - Community Psychology as a subject

Applications for the 2023 intake of the Postgraduate Diploma in the Practice of Psychology (PGDipPracPsych) have closed. Apply now for 2024. Entry is competitive and places in the programme are limited. Note that applications for 2024 entry will not be considered until October 2023.

Applications for the 2023 intake of the Master of Applied Psychology (MAppPsy) close on 1 November.

The Postgraduate Diploma in the Practice of Psychology is designed to meet the requirements for registration as a psychologist under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance (HPCA) Act.

Community psychology as an applied social science encourages inter-disciplinary approaches to learning, including sociology, community development, education and the policy sciences. Community psychologists contribute their expertise in a number of health and social services to encourage healthy people and communities. They develop, support and evaluate interventions that enhance health outcomes for individuals, whānau and communities.
