Charlotte says she chose the University of Waikato because she’d always heard great things about its Law faculty and had met many great lawyers who’d attended Waikato.

Studying law had always been on Charlotte Miller’s career radar. After all, her mum is a defence lawyer and her dad a senior sergeant with NZ Police.

“I always knew growing up that I wanted to do something in the Justice system; it’s in my blood.”

Alongside her Bachelor of Laws degree, Charlotte is studying Forensic and Criminological Psychology.

“I didn’t know Security and Crime Science or Forensic and Criminological Psychology were even options before I was looking at electives for my degree. I was instantly drawn to them and wanted to give them a go.”

“What stood out for me was how well informed I felt before deciding on this university. Any information I needed was easily accessed, and there were always student advisers to answer my questions.”

She also likes the fact some of her lectures are online, which means she can still fit in part-time work working for the Police in the Arms Safety and Control Group.
