Kendl Hambly

Seeing her creative ideas go from concept to reality has always been rewarding for Kendl Hambly, who is the Principal Advisor - Marketing and Communications for Inland Revenue NZ, based in Napier.

“I’m passionate about marketing from both a creative and strategic perspective," says Kendl. "Recognising the importance of both viewpoints is vital to successful marketing. I also have an interest in customer relationship management, and hope to gain further expertise in this area as my career progresses.”

An ex-student of Hastings Girls’ High School, Kendl graduated from Waikato with a Bachelor of Management Studies with Honours in 2014.

One of the highlights of her time at university was being part of the winning team that took out the Waikato Management School Case Competition in October 2012, after producing a business strategy for local craft brewery Good George. This gave Kendl a huge boost, giving her the confidence to speak in front of a large audience.

Another memorable experience was being awarded a prestigious $5,000 summer research scholarship to conduct marketing research into healthcare services aimed at the ‘baby boomer’ generation in New Zealand.

In her final year, Kendl landed a four-month internship with Fallenfront, a men’s fashion retailer in Raglan, where she learned how to run a digital advertising campaign and developed strategic recommendations on how to drive the business forward.
