My Experience

I am currently on secondment with the Restorative Practice team, where I have stepped out of the classroom for six months to further develop my skills in relationship-based approaches and conflict resolution through Restorative Practice as a Regional Facilitator for Taranaki and Taupo.

Prior to this, I was as a Junior Pastoral Leader (Years 7–10) at my local secondary school. During my time there, I was part of the pastoral team that supported the transition following the closure of the existing intermediate and high schools and the establishment of a new Year 7–13 secondary school. This experience provided me with invaluable insight into designing and implementing pastoral systems from the ground up, grounded in restorative principles.

In the classroom, I teach senior Biology and Marine Biology, as well as junior Science and Mathematics. I am deeply passionate about building genuine relationships with the students and colleagues I work with, as I believe that strong, trusting connections are the foundation for positive and successful outcomes.
