Fulbright Public Lecture: Challenging oppression & marginalisation
Date / Time: 15 March 2017 1-2pm
Professor Mara Sapon-Shevin, Syracuse University, New York, USA.
You are warmly invited by the Wilf Malcolm Institute of Educational Research (WMIER) to attend this public lecture by our visiting Fulbright Scholar.
In order to create a more socially just world, we must all increase our skills in recognizing oppression and marginalization and becoming more effective allies. This presentation explores some of the complexities of learning to become allies and challenges some of our assumptions about what it means to “stand up” for others.
15 March 2017, 1-2pm, MSB 1.03 (Management School, Gate 6b, Hillcrest Rd)
