Regulations for the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDipInfoTech)

This qualification is awarded jointly by the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato.

  1. The Personal Programmes of Study Regulations apply in these regulations.

Admission

  1. Candidates for the Postgraduate Diploma must have
    1. been enrolled in the Master of Information Technology, and
      1. passed papers with a total value of at least 60 points for that degree

      and

      1. been recommended for admission by the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Division or delegated authority.
  2. No candidate on whom the Degree of Master of Information Technology has been conferred may be permitted to apply for admission to the Postgraduate Diploma.

Requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma

  1. Candidates must gain 120 points at 500 level or above.
  2. The total enrolment for the Postgraduate Diploma must not exceed 150 points.
  3. Candidates must enrol in the Division of Health, Engineering, Computing and Science and follow an approved programme of study.
  4. A candidate enrolled for the Postgraduate Diploma must pass 120 points from the papers, excluding internship or project papers, as prescribed in the Computer Science entry in the University of Waikato Catalogue of Papers.
  5. A candidate admitted to this programme must complete the University of Waikato Academic Integrity Module.

Award of Honours

  1. The Postgraduate Diploma may be awarded with Distinction.

Variations

  1. The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Division or delegated authority may vary or waive these regulations in individual cases.
