Be sure to select The University of Waikato as the app defaults to Hamilton City Council.

Parking services

Unisafe ensure that the University of Waikato parking areas, roads, footpaths and other areas are used in accordance with safe parking practice, as well as providing a number of specific services:

Safe Walk

Unisafe is available to walk you to and from your vehicle if you feel vulnerable. This service extends to the University boundaries and does not include walking or driving people to home addresses or private car parking facilities outside the campus. Please allow 10-15 minutes notice for this service.

Parking enforcement

This includes taking action of either wheel-clamping or towing where vehicles are parked incorrectly. The fee for wheel-clamp removal is $50 (GST inclusive) if parked in LTH or General Parking areas, or $100 (GST inclusive) if parked in a Reserved Numbered park. The fee is payable at the Security counter at SUB 0.

Mobility parking

There are a number of mobility parking spaces on both the Hamilton and Tauranga campuses, which are freely available for use at any time. Visitors do not need to book these parks. Please ensure your valid mobility card is clearly visible on your dashboard.
