About Xinyu

Dr. Xinyu Fu is a Lecturer of Environmental Planning in the School of Social Sciences. Before joining the University of Waikato, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Urban Studies Institute at the Georgia State University, USA. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).

Dr. Fu’s research interests include urban resilience, climate change adaptation, plan making, urban governance, and coastal management. His work has been published in journals including Climatic Change, Cities, Journal of Environmental Planning and Management, Natural Hazards, Natural Hazards & Earth System Sciences, Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for Global Change, and Ocean & Coastal Management.
