This television mock-documentary screened on a cable science-fiction channel as part of the promotional campaign surrounding the release of the feature mock-documentary The Blair Witch Project. A more complex (but less effective) appropriation of documentary aesthetics than the film itself, this programme uses a combination of expositional, interactive and observational documentary techniques to develop the Blair Witch mythology. It presents historical background to the Blair Witch legend (including debates between 'experts' over its validity), the biographies of the three student filmmakers and additional details (including television news reports) of their mysterious disappearance in pursuit of documentary footage of the phenomenon.
