What we do
Our research on audiences traverses traditional as well as new media, on screen and in print. ARU members have researched audience responses to film, television, video games, social media, newspapers, photography, art and more. In exploring the media engagements of diverse audiences, the ARU aims to provide a forum for critical reflection on established research traditions within the media industries, the humanities, and social sciences, and to explore opportunities for new and more insightful forms of qualitative as well as quantitative audience research. The ARU encourages research which explores audience engagements with screen and media texts within transnational, cross-cultural and multicultural settings.
