Kia orana, Talofa, Malo e lelei, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Bula Vinaka, Namaste, Taloha ni, Halo ola keta, Mauri and warm Pacific greetings to all!

Welcome to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS). The Faculty supports and encourages our Pacific students in their academic pursuits through various activities and initiatives offered by FASS Pacific Student Services.

The Faculty also collaborates with the central Pacific Support team and the various Pacific student groups at University, providing services to students studying at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Through these networks the aim is that students will establish a supportive social and cultural environment to promote academic success.

Pacific Student Services

Within the team, we have a dedicated Student Services Administrator who can help with enrolments, programme & course planning, and academic support. We also have two Pacific mentors who can provide assignment advice, pastoral care, and cultural assistance.

Our mentors are based at J.G.04 on scheduled days during semester weeks. All students are welcome to talk to the mentor during office hours or email for an appointment.

Workshops and Events

The Faculty offers a range of academic workshops and social events for our Pacific students throughout the year. In collaboration with Student Learning, there are workshops around examination preparation, essay writing and APA referencing. We have events for students to network and meet with other Pacific family and share their culture. These events include our Pacific Welcome, Motivate with kai and kava, Pit Stop, and Fiafia Evening.

The Conch

The Conch is a dedicated Pacific student space located at Level Zero of Student Centre. It is a place for all Pacific students to utilise for academic and social purposes. Students can contact the Pacific Student Success Coordinator at to book the space.
