Stepping Higher thanks to Compass Group

Generous sponsorship from the Compass Group has made a new award available to senior Sir Edmund Hillary Scholars.

The Step Higher Award covers each Scholar's travel, accommodation and a daily allowance for up to three weeks.

The Step Higher Award is an opportunity for these Scholars to travel to Khumbu Valley in Nepal, work with local communities and trek to Everest Base Camp. They will see and experience the true legacy of the great New Zealand explorer, Sir Ed.

Compass Group is the world's leading provider of contract food and support services, and is a significant supplier on campus for a range of hospitality services, including halls of residence catering.

The Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Programme was established in 2005 to educate future leaders at the University of Waikato. These scholars excel in academia, leadership and sports or creative and performing arts.
