geoff-furnissWith the merging of industry leaders BBC Technologies and Compac Sorting Equipment, TOMRA Fresh Food offers innovative, post-harvest technology and solutions to the global fresh fruit industry.

TOMRA Fresh Food specialises in advanced optical sorting and grading of fresh produce using artificial intelligence, imaging and sensor-based technologies. They provide scalable, integrated solutions for all-sized operations which include gentle and accurate filling and packing systems through to traceability.

The TOMRA Fresh Food Scholarship for Women, worth $7,500, is awarded to a second and third-year female STEM student each year at the University of Waikato. It is awarded based on the student’s academic achievement and their potential to make an impact in the STEM industries (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths).

CEO Geoff Furniss says TOMRA Fresh Food is proud to support female STEM students and to encourage more females into careers in the technology and innovation sector.
