Te Piringa Faculty of Law is immensely proud to be celebrating its 30 year anniversary, and 30 years of New Frontiers

This year marks 30 years since Te Piringa Faculty of Law first opened its doors in 1991. Since then, we have seen close to 4000 students graduate, learnt from and collaborated with exceptional staff, undertaken world-leading legal research, and developed a close network of friends and supporters.

Celebrating 30 years of new frontiers: Te Piringa Faculty of Law

Te Piringa translates as the coming together of peoples and cultures.

This name was gifted to us by the late Te Arikinui, Dame Te Atairangikaahu, the Māori Queen. Our anniversary theme, 30 Years of New Frontiers, acknowledges Te Piringa’s commitment to its founding principles of professionalism, biculturalism, and the study of law in context, and our continued drive to push forward into emerging and vital fields.
