Poland in it's Neighbourhood: Climate Change and Energy Policy in Changing Times.
Dr Maciej M. Sokołowski.
Date: Wednesday, 16th May, 2018
Time: 1pm
Location: A.G.11
The European Union has long advocated for more liberal, open, and transparent European energy market driven by the goals on renewable energy, CO2 emissions, and energy efficiency. But Poland has often been negative about EU proposals, trying to block them or reduce their impact. What has been driving this Polish ‘climate scepticism?’ Has this changed or has the EU’s position evolved? What does the EU climate-energy policy mean for Poland and Central-Eastern Europe? Does the EU climate action have any significance for the New Zealand?
