NZLSA Conference Week in on its way to Waikato
22-25 August 2017
New Zealand’s best and brightest law students will descend on the University of Waikato on Tuesday, August 22 for a week of competitions and networking for the annual New Zealand Law Students’ Association Conference.
Top law students from the six law schools around New Zealand will gather at the University of Waikato to compete in various law competitions vying for a chance to take the national title on behalf of their respective University.
The conference is run annually, and would not happen without the generous support of the Institute of Professional Legal Studies who are lead sponsor. Students compete in four competitions: Client Interviewing sponsored by Russell McVeagh, Negotiation sponsored by Buddle Findlay, Witness Examination sponsored by Minter Ellison Rudd Watts and Mooting sponsored by Bell Gully.
Te Piringa Faculty of Law and the University of Waikato are co-sponsors of the conference and host the opening dinner. Thanks must also go to the other generous sponsors including the Auckland District Law Society and LexisNexis.
Seven University of Waikato students will be competing for a chance to take out the title in their various competitions. Emma Speakman and Tayla Afoa for Client Interviewing. Ben Wilkins and Myles Rollason for Negotiation. Talia Powell for Witness Examination and Jadine Hooper and Harsimran Mahal for Mooting.
The competitions provide New Zealand’s up and coming legal minds with valuable practical skills and brings together the NZLSA executive to exchange ideas and offer support.
