260716 seminar

Laura Adlam and Patrick Neilands from the Ministry of Justice will present a seminar overviewing the key findings of the youth victimisation and harm report in the Te Puna Haumaru Seminar Series on Thursday 16 July, 2-3pm.

The Research and Evaluation team in the Ministry of Justice recently published a report into youth victimisation and harm. This report explored young people’s experience of bullying, verbal harm, physical harm, and sexual harm and the impact of this harm on young people’s wellbeing.

The report is based on data from the Ministry of Social Development’s Youth Health and Wellbeing Survey, which interviewed young people aged 13-19 years old. In this talk, we will summarise topline findings and some additional insights on the relationship between harm and screen use, and the impacts of victimisation and involvement with state care on future offending.
