Hamilton City Brass returns to the stage with Movie Magic, an evening celebrating some of the greatest film music ever written. Under the baton of our new Musical Director, Te Reo Genefaas, the band will transport audiences through worlds of adventure, heroism, romance, and imagination with a programme featuring beloved music from both classic and contemporary films.

From the moment the first notes sound, audiences will be taken on a musical journey through some of cinema's most memorable stories. The programme includes music from The Incredibles, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Saving Private Ryan, Rocky, Aladdin, Braveheart, and many more cinematic favourites. These iconic scores have become every bit as memorable as the films themselves, capturing moments of courage, excitement, humour, triumph, and heart. Whether reliving favourite movie memories or discovering these soundtracks in a new way, audience members can look forward to an evening filled with powerful musical storytelling.

Movie music has a unique ability to transport listeners straight into the action, and this carefully selected programme showcases the remarkable range and versatility of Hamilton City Brass. From soaring melodies and stirring themes to dramatic fanfares and moments of quiet reflection, the concert promises something for every musical taste.

Adding a special highlight to the programme will be Hamilton City Brass flugel horn soloist Lisa Marshall, who will perform the beautiful Concierto de Aranjuez, the iconic solo made famous through the film Brassed Off. This much-loved work is sure to be one of the evening's standout moments and a memorable showcase of both artistry and expression.
