Is the University of Waikato Open Day free to attend?

Yes, Open Day is completely free to attend. All you have to do is register in advance for the event you are interested in.

Where do I go, how do I start?

You've got here early, and have your programme for the day all mapped out—now what? There are two different entry points that you can use for Tauranga Open Day, either: 101 Durham St – you can enter through the entry doors just to the left of 101 Café, look for someone in a red t-shirt for any questions. Durham Lane – there will be a big marquee set up along Durham Lane just outside the main campus, our team will be set up at ready to greet you.

Parking and WiFi on the day

Tauranga Parking: Parking on the day is limited to on-street parking, so please keep this in mind when making travel arrangements, as this will be on a first-come, first-served basis. WiFi: Free WiFi is available. Select the ‘waikato’ network to access Wi-Fi.

How do I use the Open Day programme and read room numbers?

Info sessions are generally 20 minutes long (unless stated otherwise in the title). Locations are listed by floor number. Room number . E.g. TCBD.2.09 = Level 2. Room 2.09.

I'm lost on campus, where do I find a map?

Make a plan with your group to have a meeting location should you get separated. This could be in The Hub on Level 1 or at 101 Café on Ground Floor. If in doubt, ask a student ambassador in a red t-shirt or check the campus maps .

I can't attend the event, can I get information before Open Day?

The Future Students team is here to support prospective students with information on the enrolment process, accommodation, costs, scholarships, and the types of support services available. Families and whānau are welcome to come along and ask about subjects and degree choices, University Entrance requirements, and pathways to study. Appointments are available via phone, Zoom, or face-to-face (in either Hamilton or Tauranga) between 9am and 4pm on weekdays. Book an appointment.
