9.30am - 10am Te Manawaroa (1.07) Mihi Whakatau: New Student Welcome & Morning Tea

Nau mai, haere mai. Your journey starts here. We warmly invite you to gather in The Hub on Level 1 before being welcomed by the University's kaumātua and after, invited to enjoy some morning tea.

10am - 11am Te Manawaroa (1.07) Getting Connected & Student Services Make sure you're ready for study by attending this session. It will cover a whole bunch of topics including: IT, facilities, services and the support systems available to you.
11am - 11.30am Te Manawaroa (1.07) Start Smart: Navigating Moodle, the Library, and Study Skills

Get a head start on your studies. Moodle is our online learning space, where you’ll find your papers and key learning resources. Come along to learn how Moodle works and how to access the academic supports available to help you succeed during your studies.

We’ll also highlight upcoming academic and library workshops you can take advantage of throughout the trimester.

11.30am - 12.30pm Poutokomanawa, Level 1 Cultural Narrative Tour 

The Tauranga Campus was designed with history, heritage and cultural identity carefully integrated into the design. Come along to this tour to unlock the stories told in the carvings and artworks of the campus. Nau mai haere mai!

11.30am - 12.30pm Campus Clubhouse Campus Clubhouse Activities Discover our Campus Clubhouse, shoot some hoops or play board games! It’s the perfect place to meet new friends and connect with your campus community. Whether you’re looking to unwind or be active, there's something for everyone.
12.30pm - 1pm Ātea  Lunch Join us for lunch.
1pm - 1.30pm TCBD.1.07 Māori ki Waikato ki Tauranga

Tūtira mai ngā iwi! E ngā iwi, kia tapatahi, kia kotahi rā ki Te Toka a Tirikawa me Te Kāhui Pīrere!

10am - 1pm TCBD.2.09 International Students Meet and Greet

Welcome to the University of Waikato! This compulsory session for all new international students is a great chance to meet fellow students and support staff, have some fun exploring Tauranga CBD, and finish with a pizza lunch: 

- 10am–11am: Information session.
- 11am–12.30pm: Scavenger Hunt – please wear comfortable shoes and clothing. If rain is forecast, bring a raincoat.
- 12.30pm: Return to campus for shared pizza.

2pm - 3pm TCBD.2.08 Pacific Meet and Greet / Information Session

Kia orāna, mālō e lelei, tālofa lava, fakaalofa lahi atu, ni sa bula vinaka, taloha ni, halo olaketa, kia orana, ko na mauri, tālofa, aloha and warm Pacific greetings. 

Welcome to the University of Waikato! As a Pacific student we are excited that you have chosen to begin your tertiary journey with us. You are warmly invited to our Pacific in Tauranga session. You will get to meet your Pacific team made up of aunties, uncles and cousins who are driven to support your success in our tertiary space. Also learn about services and initiatives that are available for Pacific students.
