Online donations are being taken by the University's charity arm, its Foundation - Te Pou Taunaki. The University Foundation will acknowledge all donations with relevant tax information.

Luke, an alumnus of the University of Waikato, died suddenly in late July from an unexpected medical event, leaving behind wife Kylie and two young children. He had been working at Hamilton City Council for the past nine years but remained involved with the University where he was an Honorary Lecturer in Environmental Planning.
There was a huge turnout for Luke's funeral on 4 August and many people have asked the University about donating to a fund in Luke's name. A suitable prize will be established in 2022.
