Dr Heather Connolly will faciliate the discussion

An impressive panel of CEOs, directors and a QC will share their thoughts on the future of governance and leadership in New Zealand at an online panel in early November.

The panel is made up of five Distinguished Alumnae of the University of Waikato, directors Liz Coutts and Tania Te Rangingangana Simpson, barrister QC Miriam Dean, businesswoman Theresa Gattung and CEO Parekawhia McLean. All five panellists are University of Waikato alumnae and have been awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award in the past 15 years.

The event, At Your Fingertips: Distinguished Alumnae leadership panel, on Tuesday 2 November, is a conversation and learning opportunity for Waikato alumni among others, and will address the issues governing through tough times in a fast-changing world.

Peta Goldsworthy, Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the University, is pleased the University could bring the alumnae together for this event. “It’s an incredible opportunity to learn from our own alumnae who have such vast experience and to be able to share that knowledge with our community. We see it as an opportunity for alumni and friends to receive practical and applicable advice that can be implemented in their own lives.”

The alumnae will answer a series of questions in a Q&A style panel facilitated by Director of Engagement and Executive Education at the Waikato Management School, Dr Heather Connolly, who will guide the discussion through topics on planning, leadership, governance and operations. “It is a pivotal time for governance and leadership; we need to understand what these skills will look like in 15 years and how to prepare for that and who we need with us.”

Viewers can watch the conversation live from anywhere in the world and can submit a question to the panel during or before the event. To ask a question or register for the event, visit the alumni website.

Date & time: Tuesday 2 November, 5.30pm - 6.30pm
Registration: Registration is free but essential
