This project focuses on developing novel metal complexes that could help address current medical challenges, particularly in areas like antimicrobial resistance and cancer treatment. By designing and synthesising a range of metal complexes with different ligands and metals, the aim is to evaluate how changes in structure affect their properties and biological activity. The biological activity of these will be explored through in vitro testing to evaluate their potential activity. Overall, this research will look at how metal-based systems can be used in a more targeted way to develop new therapeutic options. This is important as many existing drugs are becoming less effective, and new approaches are constantly needed.
