Finding volunteering roles

We'll let you know about volunteering opportunities (often on campus), and you can find your own opportunities with non-profit organisations as well. It all counts on your EPP Record.

Watch your inbox: Throughout most of the academic year we send out one EPP opportunity a week from one of our non-profit partners. Each semester also has a promotional week so, if you’re interested and have the time, come and help out!

MyCareer announcements: Whenever you are on MyCareer (booking a careers appointment or registering for a workshop, for example) keep an eye out for volunteering announcements.

Micro-volunteering: Bite-sized opportunities: Micro-volunteering is bite-sized, on-demand, no commitment volunteering – perfect for busy uni students!

Most roles are small, on-campus, and easy to apply for

Most of the volunteering organised by EPP and our non-profit partners are completed on campus and don’t require a CV. If you do need a CV, visit MyCareer to book an appointment, register for a CV workshop, or find the next drop-in session.

Volunteering Waikato and Volunteering BOP

You can also find your own volunteering roles in the community or through an organisation like Volunteering Waikato or Volunteering Bay of Plenty.

Waikato: Search Volunteering Waikato (for short, one-time roles, select 'Events & Micro Volunteering')

Bay of Plenty: Sign up to search volunteer roles (under 'Select time commitment' you can choose micro-volunteering and/or EPP).

After volunteering, keep your EPP Record up to date

Open MyCareer You can view and update your EPP Record in MyCareer. This is where you keep track of all your EPP volunteering, university activities, and workshop attendance.
