This paper enables students to proceed from designing columns of type to designing pages of type, which incorporate display type. This paper also enables students to design with display type in printed and digital media. Throughout the paper the arrangement of typography is treated as invention and problem solving, though within specific and sometimes quite rigid guidelines.
