This paper provides a synthesis of theory and specific case studies, so that the student will be able to understand the most formidable international environmental problems in international law and the context from which these problems originate. Working with thematic areas of international environmental law, ranging from climate change to biological diversity, specific case studies will also
include international environmental law and sustainable development, economic growth, free trade, debt, aid and sovereignty.
