This paper explores new directions in Social Studies education including social inquiry as a methodology, using research evidence to monitor achievement, educating for citizenship, multi-literacies, and issues-based learning. As blended-learning models emerge in primary and secondary school settings, e-learning approaches in the context of Social Studies curriculum are examined and applied.
