Diploma in Management

This one-year diploma provides an introduction to management and provides a springboard to further study.

The Diploma in Management is takes one years full-time study, against three years for the Bachelor of Business or four for the Bachelor of Management Studies with Honours. It's a great way to gain an introductory university qualification and can lead to more advanced study.

The Dip(Mgt) will equip you with well-rounded business and financial acumen. You'll be studying at Waikato Management School, which is ranked in the top 1% of the business schools worldwide.

To complete the Dip(Mgt), students must pass eight papers at Level 100 or above, including at least five papers at 200 Level or above in the field of Business.

To complete the Dip(Mgt), students must pass a total of eight papers (120 points),

At least five of the eight papers (75 points) in the Dip(Mgt) must be from subjects listed in the field of Management, including the 100-level paper STMGT101 Introduction to Management.

At least five papers (75 points) in the Dip(Mgt) must be taken at 200 Level or above, while the other three papers can be any level.

Business Fundamentals papers

If STMGT101 has already been completed as part of another qualification, it can be replaced with any other paper in the field of Management, at any level.

You may choose to take some of the following 'Business Fundamentals' papers as elective papers, although this is not compulsory:

Launch into further study

A Diploma in Management makes a good year of study - but if you find yourself wanting more, you'll have the option of crediting all of your papers towards a three- or four-year bachelor's degree instead.
