Applications are invited for a Research Master’s Thesis at the University of Waikato in social sciences or psychology.

The successful application for this scholarship will work alongside Professor Katrina Roen on a Marsden-funded project titled “Protecting Children’s Bodily Integrity and Human Rights”. This research project takes an interdisciplinary approach to intersex human rights and healthcare.

The following students are especially encouraged to apply for this scholarship: students who are intersex or have a variation of sex characteristics; Māori students; Pacifica students.

Tenure
The scholarship provides $22,000 for a full-time research Master’s thesis year for up to 12 months during 2026.

Eligibility

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject within humanities or social sciences. A B+ GPA is expected.
