Aquaculture farmers and managers
- usually work irregular and long hours, including evenings and weekends

Tasks
- feed and care for fish and shellfish
- harvest and pack fish and shellfish
- clean and repair lines, ropes and nets
- plan work schedules and manage budgets
- train and supervise workers
- maintain and repair farm equipment
- dive to clean fish pens
- work with net cleaners and underwater vehicles
- keep records of fish growth and health
- follow and meet farming laws

You may need
- a relevant tertiary qualification in fisheries studies, biological sciences or similar area
- experience in similar work

You usually need NCEA Level 3 to do the study or training for this job.
