Conveyancers
- usually work regular business hours but may work extra hours

- need to be accurate, methodical and communicate well
Tasks
- manage property sales and purchases
- prepare legal documents and contracts
- research legal material
- manage settlement fund transfers
- communicate with banks and brokers
- assist communication between property buyers and sellers
- check information in public and personal records
- perform anti-money laundering checks
- apply for grants
How can you become a Conveyancer?
You usually need a qualification to become a conveyancer and experience may be useful.
You may need
- a New Zealand Diploma of Conveyancing (Level 6) to become a registered conveyancer
- a NZ Society of Conveyancers (NZSOC) Equivalency Assessment Certificate to become a registered conveyancer
- a Practising Certificate to become a conveyancing practitioner
- experience in similar work
- to be over 20 years old
If you're in school
You usually need NCEA Level 3 to do the study or training for this job.
